The Learn Module (students & parents)

The Learn module is Qismi's practice engine, built on learning science: content matched to each country's official grade levels, difficulty that keeps learners in the zone between "too easy" and "too hard", hints that guide rather than give away answers, and gamification that rewards showing up every day. Parents see the same screens through the child selector; students use them directly.

Subjects and exercises

  • Mathematics — topics per grade: numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, geometry, and measurements. Exercise formats include mental math with a countdown timer, column operations with carrying, fill-in-the-blanks, complements, multiple choice, visual fractions, and culturally relevant word problems with step-by-step explanations.
  • Vocabulary word lists — personal lists or lists assigned by the teacher, practiced in six modes: Learn (see term and translation together), Study (flip cards), Quiz (choose the correct translation), Spelling (type the translation), Strict (exact answer — accents matter), and Match (pair terms with translations). Words you usually get wrong are grouped so you can target them.
  • Tamazight — learn the 33-letter Tifinagh alphabet with flashcards and quizzes. Letters progress through mastery stages (New → Learning → Reviewing → Mastered); vocabulary unlocks after mastering 80% of the alphabet.

Choosing your level (difficulty)

Before an exercise you choose your level: Easy, Medium, or Hard, with the grade-appropriate level marked Recommended. You can also enable or disable the timer. There is no shame in adjusting down — the goal is steady progress, and the app raises the recommendation as your skill rating grows.

AI hints — help without answers

Stuck on a question? After a wrong attempt, Qismi offers a hint: Need a hint?. A hint nudges your thinking — it never hands over the answer, so you still solve the problem yourself.

  • Hints are limited per day (the offer shows how many you have left, e.g. "3 hints left"). When they run out, come back tomorrow.
  • You can always decline the hint and simply retry.

XP, levels, streaks, badges, and daily goals

  • XP & levels — every session earns XP (+XP appears on the results screen); enough XP triggers a Level Up! celebration.
  • Streaks — practice on consecutive days to build a streak. The Learn home shows your flame and reminds you to "practice today to keep your streak".
  • Daily goals — small targets each day, with a Goal Complete! celebration.
  • Skill rating — a chess-style rating that tracks your level per topic and powers the Suggested for you recommendations (needs practice, ready for a challenge, time for a review…).
  • Badges — earned for XP milestones (First Steps → Master Learner), streaks (3, 7, 30 days), accuracy (80%, 90%), sessions completed (10, 50, 100), and perfect sessions (Flawless).

Feedback that builds a growth mindset

Right or wrong, the feedback is encouraging by design — "Your hard work is paying off!", "Mistakes help us learn!" — and results screens rate the session (Perfect, Excellent, Good Job, Keep Going) with an invitation to try again. Sounds, vibration, and the microphone (for speech exercises) can be adjusted under Sound & Feedback.

For parents

In your Learn and Progress tabs, select a child to see exactly what they see: their subjects, last exercise, pending learning assignments, streak, accuracy, and badges. Encourage the streak — consistency beats intensity.
